Homemade Almond Coconut Candy
Indulge in these delightful almond coconut candies, featuring a creamy coconut interior topped with a whole almond, all encased in a rich milk chocolate coating.

In a saucepan, combine the corn syrup, sugar, and water. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring until it reaches a firm ball stage at 212°F (100°C).
Remove from heat and stir in the almond flavoring and salt. Mix in the shredded coconut while the mixture is still hot.
Pour the coconut mixture into a buttered 8x8-inch pan and allow it to cool completely.
Once cooled, cut the mixture into small squares. Place one whole almond atop each square.
In a microwave or double boiler, melt the milk chocolate with the shortening until smooth.
Dip each almond-topped square into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is completely coated. Place on wax paper to set.
