Aromatic Garam Masala Blend
A flavorful and fragrant spice mix, perfect for infusing Indian dishes with a warm and aromatic essence. This homemade garam masala elevates any dish with its balanced blend of spices.

Warm a flat pan over medium-low heat.
Add black cardamom, cloves, cinnamon sticks, black peppercorns, dried ginger, and bay leaves. Dry roast these spices for about 3 minutes until they release their aroma.
Introduce cumin seeds to the pan and continue to dry roast until the cumin darkens in color.
Once all spices are toasted, mix in asafoetida and remove the pan from heat.
Let the spices cool to room temperature, then transfer them to a spice grinder. Grind them into a fine powder.
If desired, sift the powder through a sieve for a smoother texture.
