Vodka Pie Crust
A flaky and tender pie crust recipe that utilizes both vodka and water to create the perfect dough that's easy to handle and bakes beautifully.
Ingredients
- • 1/4 cup water
- • 1/4 cup vodka
- • 11.5 ounces all purpose flour
- • 1 ounce sugar
- • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- • 2 1/2 sticks semi frozen unsalted butter
Instructions
Mix the 1/4 cup of water and the 1/4 cup of vodka together in small bowl and place in freezer until it's almost frozen.
Place 2/3 of your flour into the food processor with an ounce of sugar and a tsp of salt.
Pulse to combine before adding 2 1/2 sticks of semi-frozen unsalted butter.
Process for 10 seconds or until it's a pebbly texture.
Transfer to a large mixing bowl and fold in water/vodka mixture a couple of tablespoons at a time.
Then add the rest of the flour and water/vodka mixture and continue to fold until mixture becomes a shaggy dough.
Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for an hour or more.
